Hello,
My husband was working for employer that he got a moving allowance from $5000.00.It turned out the place payed flat rate.In which is you only get paid for the job you do ..if there is work coming through the door.Well my husband wasnt given many good paying job`s.They went to the tech`s that were at this place of employment for a longer period of time. However my husband couldn`t make a living there and had to find a hour paying job.If he had stayed at that place of employment for a year he wouldn`t have had to pay it back. However he had to leave or our family would have starved..never mind not being able to pay rent. Now his wage is being garnished by the court`s.We had offered a payment plan, but she refused. The court is taking over 1/2 of my husbands check and we can`t make it with 3 children to take care of and I am disabled.I had asked the employer if she could help with the amount and told her why.She couldn`t care at all how hard it is for me to even get groceries to feed my family.I even asked the court and they said they figure out the amount and only allow 200.00 for each child. Is there any help out there for us to at least get the amount lowered?
Thank-you to all who reply and bless you.
Have a great day Shelley

Is the 25% garnishment the percentage of the paycheck or the percentage of the amount owed? In the papers that I had received, it stated only the interest on the total amount owed is what I would be paying for. The interest stated and my bimonthly (twice a month) paychecks are nearly identical. So I am confused. Since the amount of the interest was the only thing stated in the legal papers, I was assuming that the amount of garnishment was against the amount stated in the legal papers, which was assumably the interest charged.
